Show HN: A realistic handwriting generator, directly in the browser [demo]
- sjv 6y agoHey HN — This is a simple web app that allows you to enter text and watch as an in-browser neural network generates the corresponding handwriting in real time. I’m happy to hear feedback or answer questions about how it works!
- anigbrowl 6y agoIt works well from a technical standpoint, but who is this for? I'm sick of marketing mail with fake handwriting that are meant to resemble personal communication that will definitely be opened. What value is being created here?
- sjv 6y agoThe value is almost entirely as a technical demo of current machine learning techniques. Handwritten fonts will always be a more reliable way to create synthetic handwriting, so I don't see this as something that will be used as anything other than a toy.
- sigmaprimus 6y agoI think this is great, I might even use it in my next Youtube video for dates and titles. Good job!
