The guy in the article makes it sound like a bad thing, and implies that should targetted advertising go away, so will all the internet properties we love and enjoy. My guess is that Apple (and Samsung) will eventually go ahead with this change, but by then some other workaround will be built, rendering said change cosmetic (without the general public's knowledge or consent, of course).
