Governments just love reducing tax dollars by shutting stuff down!
- ddeck 6y agoNumerous authoritarian goverments have used the pandemic as an excuse to expand powers and suppress dissent, often invoking emergency powers to bypass the usual law making process. Look at Hungary, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Venezuela etc. A quick search will bring up many examples.
