Tables, a Product from Area 120, by Google: One tool, many uses
- amolo 6y agoGoogle has come to eat Airtable's lunch.
- jacquesc 6y agoLike a seagull at the picnic table, they'll get scraps and quickly fly away
- geostyx 6y agoAgreed, this will go nowhere.
- lern_too_spel 6y agoIf this were a real product, it would have launched as part of Google Workplace (formerly GSuite, née Google Apps). Area 120 is a completely make-work division of Google that Pichai will shut down as soon as he remembers it still exists.
- jasonvorhe 6y agoI don't understand who a company such as Google cannot manage to launch this internationally. I get you don't want to wake thousands of good for various translations, but region locking your new product just seems... shortsighted.

- anaganisk 6y agoIn 6 months, Google Tables will be sunset in a week, currently we have no way for you to export your data. We're glad you trusted us once again, until another product launch, see ya. - VP, Google Products.
- odomojuli 6y agoThis is my first time reading about Area 120. Any have insightful observations on this change in marketing?
