You could always use your number now to get in, then erase the number from the account or switch to a dummy number (if allowed). They don't offer this option anymore, I think they stopped offering it when I first opened a ticket. Plus giving them a number, even if only for a limited once, just perpetuates the situation... curious if you could post the article there I'll take a look, but then again I'm not usually interested in social media: I did this solely to benefit profesionnaly from the network effect of (i) my colleagues who are active on Twitter, and (ii) Twitter itself.
