So, I was expecting to see a Y-shaped graph for the Y-combinator, but it doesn’t look like that. Do anyone have a link to a resource showing why the Y-combinator is named thus?
- tromp 6y agoDid you see the Note at the bottom? "The diagram in the title, produced by the postscript code below, is a slightly deformed alternative Y diagram made to look like a Y." That's not the reason it's called Y combinator though...
- psychoslave 6y agoOh, I red somewhere it was called thus due to some diagram shape. Is that completely wrong, or does it refer simply to an other kind of diagram?
