How about a system for root zone distribution akin to rpki using bittorrent where updates are signed by a trusted key? Then any resolver could easily be a root server.
- akvadrako 6y agoThe root zone is already signed and there is a distribution network in place – that's how caching DNS servers work. It's already very scalable.
