There's literally no reason to be happy about a mass migration to your neighborhood. Regardless of who the newcomers are (even internal migration in the same country), the target areas always suffer from the social problems the newcomers succumb to at a higher rate than the "natives".
The question then becomes how unhappy they are? I don't think nationalist lets-close-the-borders parties have ruling majority in any west- or north-European country yet.

Well, there is in some places, like UK and NL and I guess other countries: they do the jobs no native person will do any more. There are tv shows of brits getting asked to pick asperges or strawberries and they give up after a day or so. Waiters, garbage collectors, fruit picker etc; you cannot pay most native dutch to do that unless they own the business. And ofcourse we are not making enough kids in most countries, including NL so we need it.
- rbecker 6y agoYet somehow Japan and Korea, despite their developed economies, manage to find native workers for nearly all jobs. But I guess if a TV show says so, it must be true.
- tluyben2 6y agoDespite your lame exit sentence, you have a point. Over here we could learn from that however we have not so far; people refuse to do crap jobs and hire foreigners to do them. Where I live, people from Morocco do all the crap work. Locals rather die than do them.
