yes europe does work much better for the average person on street. i do wonder though how sustainable it is. for example a lot of the stability is due to pension obligations many european governments have. the current generation doesn't have that. and for every 1€ that goes in people seem to pull out any where from €1.25-2 from those systems. exactly what that will look like in 20 years is anyone's guess but it'sn't looking pretty.
