I have two copies of a product I need feedback on
First two people to respond to my demo with a mailing address gets a copy of my new product "Linux Mint OEM Studio 128gb". The only thing I ask in return is your comments on it, product quality or other concerns. This is a prelaunch product. Go! Respond here after you've tried it.
- ohiovr 6y agoIncluded in the product are two manuals on how to use it and a complete system in a low profile Samsung Fit disk. The retail price I would ask would be $135 for this bundle. The system includes several high end applications tweaked for the best possible experience you can have on the Linux Mint OS. The aim of the product is to set you free from expensive cloud subscriptions for many multimedia tasks. Even the critics of some of these software solutions exceed the expectations for commercial software offerings costing thousands of dollars.
- uberman 6y ago1) you forgot to say where your demo "is" 2) why are you using a 128gb usb when an 8gb one is fine to install mint 3) why would anyone pay $135 for mint on a usb stick from a stranger?
- ohiovr 6y ago1. The demo is my solution 2. The disk is not an installer, it is the full system in working order 3. I provide documentation and a smooth introduction to some of the strongest software available to free platforms.
- ohiovr 6y ago4. It is made for renaissance men (edit or women)
- ohiovr 6y ago5. You can boot it. I can promise that at least. Mac or PC hardware. EFI prefered. Has to be 64 bit, made in the last 10 years.
- ohiovr 6y agoThe product is bold. Raise your objections after trying it!
- uberman 6y agoHey Scott, I appreciate the passion that you have for this project as well as the choice of OS. I already use mint and recently pop, so I am not your target audience. I see ads occasionally for what I assume are scams such as "Xtra-PX" that (like your product) seem to be linux running on a USB stick and asking upwards of $80 (you want more than $130) for something that is essentially free. So, I guess my first reaction is that I don't imagine your pdfs are worth the $100 and attempting to sell that here on a site dedicated to "hackers" seems like the wrong approach.
- ohiovr 6y agoThey aren't pdfs, they are printed manuals. Also xtrapc is made for consumers, this is a workstation product.
- uberman 6y agoah, well printed hardcopy certainly changes your base costs significantly. I can now see why you want more than I "expected". I wonder if there is a market for something like this in corporate IT shops that are looking/hoping to move to linux from windows. Best of luck with your project.
- ohiovr 6y agoThank you uberman!
- ohiovr 6y agoDo you need a private repo on the modifications? It is entirely free!
- ohiovr 6y agoDo you like paying over and over for solutions made since 1998? Do you like being told you can't use the software you already paid for? There are alternatives in case you don't.
- ohiovr 6y ago6. Even with 30 of the greatest workstation software packages the 128gb studio drive allows you more than 100 gb of storage on disk. Instructions are given to allow you to transfer all of it to your main drive no matter the size above 32gb.
- ohiovr 6y agoIf you don't want exposure send your request to scott@ohiovr.com Freedom is waiting for you.
- ohiovr 6y agoIt's too late now I suppose but I also offer 30 days support for using the product including this free demo. You keep the disks and manuals. It is a give away. I am surprised people don't want a free Samsung FIT drive 128GB. It's a nice drive! I guess the demo result I'd like to see is whether the demo'ers decide to format over OEM Studio for their own use or not.
