How to Be Concise
- dannyw 6y agoI love conciseness, but not all writing should be concise. Example: longreads.
- docuru 6y agoAgreed, it depends of the type of content, and the audience. I used to enjoy long content. But in the last 2 years, I got distracted easier, and enjoy short content more.
- docuru 6y agoHey guys, I'm testing out Medium distribution (paywall vs non-paywall). Just let me know, I will turn off the paywall
- seanhunter 6y agoOne way the author is concise in this piece is just leaving out words that are actually needed for the sentence to make sense and get the reader to just imagine they are there: "The goal of most conversations (or a piece of writing) should be easy to understand for the readers." That says that the goal should be something the readers understand. I think he means is "the goal of most conversations (or pieces of writing) should be for them to be easy to understand for the readers." (ie the reader should understand the conversation, not the reader should understand the goal). There are lots of examples in here.
- docuru 6y agoHey Sean, I'm the author of the post. After you pointing it out, I realized it can be confusing. Thanks for the feedback and I'll fix it
