Women Dropping Out of US Workforce at Fastest Pace Since Covid Pandemic Peak
- AnimalMuppet 6y agoSince the peak? That's... um... not very long. When was the peak? April? Women dropping out at fastest pace in six months? Yeah, um... OK. Wake me up when you've got something real to report.
- ksaj 6y agoThey definitely need to use more clear language. Current numbers are well above the previous peak, so it doesn't make sense to refer to "the" peak without at least qualifying it with a relative date. And "the" peak is different for each demographic area. In Canada a few months ago, there was a lot of talk about a "second wave" well before the first one had even peaked. It was frustrating hearing how we were "entering a second wave" just because there was a slight levelling out of numbers for a (short) while, and then it started rising again - but well before it subsided enough to say that first wave had completed. People seem to glom onto certain phraseology without understanding the meaning sometimes. It definitely adds to all the confusion. Having said that, we're most definitely in that second wave now, but several months later.
