I support the upscale for the exact same reason as the criticism. Old photos and film almost seem fake or fictional to me. Seeing a more realistic portrayal humanizes the pictures for me. I guess the other question I have is why is this mutually exclusive? We can’t both preserve and digitize as it was and also enhance?
