- schoen 6y agoRelated (also JVM and memory errors, seen from a security perspective): https://www.cs.princeton.edu/~appel/papers/memerr.pdf https://www.cs.princeton.edu/~appel/papers/memerr.pdf I've wondered if any attackers are serving either Java or Javascript that tries to get remote code execution from pointer corruption due to hardware errors (the idea being, as in the paper, that the sandbox itself may be correct, but sometimes the hardware isn't).
- BuckRogers 6y agoYou can't build any system and not run memtest86 all night on it. If you get errors, lower the speed and try again. Or just run JEDEC. My 2700X with 3200MHz RAM will only complete a full 4 loops of memtest at 2933.
