Here in CA (possibly the rest of the US) they want to put an app on your phone to use Bluetooth to track who is in the room with you, because it’s not enough to know which end of the city block you are on at all times. Cuz, COVID!
Pardon me if I’m just a little bit creeped out.
- xingyzt 6y agoAre you talking about anonymized contact tracing protocols similar to BlueTrace [1]? Is CA planning to use a less secure option? 1. https://bluetrace.io/static/bluetrace_whitepaper-938063656596c104632def383eb33b3c.pdf https://bluetrace.io/static/bluetrace_whitepaper-93806365659...

Mobile App: https://github.com/cds-snc/covid-alert-app https://github.com/cds-snc/covid-alert-app Server: https://github.com/cds-snc/covid-alert-server https://github.com/cds-snc/covid-alert-server There's plenty to be concerned about with regard to the abuse of the database, the app doesn't need to get swept up into any paranoia.
