This is how we unfck the internet
- dgellow 6y agoThey seem to have an issue with their "u" key... More seriously I don't see how I can take something like this seriously when they feel the need auto-censor themselves to avoid writing "fuck" or "shit". That feels very childish to me. We are between grown ups, we all know what your obfuscated words are...
- tboyd47 6y agoI like this idea, but I don't like how they target Facebook and YouTube, and not Twitter, Instagram, and Google Search. There seems to be a moral sorting here of FAANG products that is weirdly selective to me and matches what I saw in "The Social Dilemma." Frankly, I think it's politically motivated. Google Search has a larger potential than Facebook to manipulate elections, Twitter is the most hate-inspiring of all of them, and Instagram has a proven negative effect on self-image. I'm not sure Facebook and YouTube are net positives to society, but they are the only tech giants I get any use out of. I have learned a lot from people on Facebook Groups and educational YouTube channels. I find I can still get somewhat uncensored or balanced information from them, even if there is some bias and censorship present. If you're going to roast big tech, be balanced in your roasting.
- mikece 6y ago> I like this idea, but I don't like how they target Facebook and YouTube, and not Twitter, Instagram, and Google Search. They are targeted because those are the companies hoovering up all of your data to build and sell marketing profiles. Microsoft should be on this list too but they are too inept to monetize the data they have... and they make enough from Office, Windows, and Azure that being a data broker isn't a pressing revenue need.
- jefurii 6y agoEvery little bit helps...
- krapp 6y agoSo Mozilla's answer to how we "unfck" the internet is to use their products and services. Insert surprised Pikachu meme here.
