Belgium launches coronavirus contact tracing app
- frans 6y agoThe application needs 15 percent of Belgians to sign up for it to provide first results. I wonder if we get to that 15% soon.
- carlmr 6y agoI'm wondering why they didn't just copy the open source German Corona app that had a security audit and works the exact same way. That way we could trace contacts in two countries that border on each other. The more countries we get in the same app, the better.
- frans 6y agoFrom the FAQ: Q: Does Coronalert also work abroad? A: Possibly in the near future. Coronalert is built on the European open standard DP3T (Decentralized Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing). In many countries, including Germany, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland, similar apps are already active, which can technically work with Coronalert. A European hub for exchanging information on Covid-19 infections is currently under construction. Only when the European exchange node will be active, you should be able to use Coronalert in several countries, or detect a contact with foreign app users in Belgium.
