Am I wrong if I say that they are so valuable (in monetary terms) just because they are the only (or one of the few) non-free database management systems (or whatever they are)?
- johncolanduoni 6y agoNot really, they’re largely targeting the same kind of use cases as redshift and bigquery.
- mr_toad 6y agoI ask people if they’ve ever heard of Redshift and BigQuery, and most, even many in IT haven’t. But everyone has heard of Snowflake.
- johncolanduoni 6y agoSure, I’m not arguing that they’re equally good or equally good at marketing. But they’re far from the only cloud OLAP database.
