Ironically enough, I actually wrote about just this topic... https://austingwalters.com/talk-to-yourself/ https://austingwalters.com/talk-to-yourself/ IMO it’s all about giving kids time alone, Not stimulated, to learn how to think about the voice in their head. A lot of what we do is try to inject more stimulus to teach, instead (and this is similar to the Montessori school of thought) they need some time to formulate a self image and learn to reflect and build an ego (self).
