Like e-mail it's not a vendor locked-in alternative (assuming porting your phone number to a different carrier is possible). I'd prefer for SMS not to die until a widely supported alternative that has no lock-in.
- ShamelessC 6y agoI believe that's what RCS is. It's slowly getting implemented by various carriers.
