Lacking inheritance is a major stumbling block that rust will have to overcome in order to build an effective GUI. The earliest GUIs such as the object-pascal based Macintosh to the most modern ones rely on inheritance to function, so I wonder how the rust developers will overcome this limitation.

- epage 6y agoI've written a good number of GUI applicions and have found requiring inheritance is more of a limitation of the toolkit than inherent to the problem space. With PyGTK, I rarely, if ever inherit. With PyQT, I've had do to some abstractions to allow composition.
