There's a Paul Graham essay [1] where he talks about how job security was a much bigger thing in the mid-20th century.
It makes more economic sense to train your workers if people tend to stay with one company for a long time.

- ulucs 6y agoAnd people don't tend to stay in the same company because they don't receive the proper care. What a nice chicken-egg problem
