- dshipper 15y agoThanks for your feedback, I'm sorry you didn't give the app a try. Unfortunately we can't grab any of the headlines from your Twitter feed without having you sign into your account so that would be a tough obstacle for us to overcome. Eventually we may be may be able to add a feature that shows a front page based on what is popular among all of our other users, but for now if you would like to try it out without using your Twitter account we have a test account that you can login with. If you're interested just send me an email, I'd love to show you our app!
- zwadia 15y agowe have a similar problem @ https://shh.sh https://shh.sh I believe there is merit in the advice from HN here about atleast making a concerted attempt to gain user trust before asking for a key rental to the car.
- jasonkester 15y agoWhy are you grabbing things from my Twitter stream? Why would I have anything there at all for you to grab? I didn't make it past the "let us use your Twitter account" step, but my assumption from reading the homepage was that you'd put stuff into Twitter on my behalf.
- wesleyzhao 15y agoWe definitely will add some copy to better help the user understand why we need the oauth and also the specifics of what we will do with your account (which is never spam).
- Shanewho 15y agoYou should have two options, one to use my account, one to use a sample account. People would probably view the sample first, and then if they were interested then they might sign in themselves.
- CWIZO 15y agoA video would suffice for me (but I've tried it anyhow).
- andr 15y agoYou could show an aggregated list of popular articles from all users and have a Login or Personalize button.
- webwright 15y agoI think you're missing the point of the feedback. You need a tour, some screenshots, or some better copy to allow interested folks to get a better sense of what's going to happen if they become a user.
- wesleyzhao 15y agoAgree completely. After getting all this feedback we think we are going to let users take a really cool tour of this product through the eyes of a user.
- yesimahuman 15y agoJust a tip: some people will never try your service unless you show them that it won't do anything malicious. But I wouldn't spend all your time creating a pseudo app just for them (though it would be interesting to test this reluctance to signup to see if it's worth your time). Just a simple video or screenshots would suffice.
- wesleyzhao 15y agoIt actually wouldn't be too hard, we think we will just tap our many-many views table to replicate an experience as ourselves! That should be a cool tour for a potential user.
- emilepetrone 15y agoStopped after I didn't see a demo
- ajaymehta 15y agoWe'll work on a demo video/screenshots as we continue to work on the project! Definitely agree that it's needed.
