I actually got burned recently with something like this. The recruiter advertised the job as 100% remote except on the off-chance I need to go to the datacenter "which should be never, except during emergencies". So I was fine with the roughly 15% pay cut.
Turns out they have a monthly deployment after midnight Sunday AM where I needed to be, and in the 1st month the director basically said, oh by the way, after covid we'll need you to be in an office we're setting up there, and didn't even offer to renegotiate salary.
Wow, bait and switch. If the fit hadn't been so horrible I might have stayed if they took me up on a salary adjustment but needless to say, I got out of there as soon as I could.
Jerks.
