Because the government doesn't get to decide who can be President.
It's up to the people.
- notmyname9173 6y agoThe government, as specified in the US Constitution, requires that candidates for president must be born in the US and over 35 years old. Assuming those requirements (and any others that may be added via amendments over time) are met, THEN it's up to the people.
- diggernet 6y agoEven that is up to the people. The US Constitution is the rules, set by the people, which the Federal government must follow.
- digitaltrees 6y agoThe people didn’t decide with this information because it was deliberate withheld.
- bmitc 6y agoIt was a point of contrast. The U.S. has a man incapable of almost any job you can think of as its president.
