As of yet, though, mainstream brands are nowhere close to Tesla when it comes to performance. And the UX of their cars is so different from mainstream brands that it feels like a unique experience you could easily define as luxury. This might change if other automakers actually make a real effort to create proper EVs. But I'm not holding my breath. My experiences I've had driving even high-performance non-Tesla EVs, seem to indicate that they'll hold this advantage for some years yet, at a minimum.
