This is crazy. Another version of this article has nearly 50 points in half an hour and isn't even in the first 200 listings on the front page because of people flagging it. We are like weeks out from the US election and this information is important for anyone trying to stay informed (as evidenced by the shear number of people voting it up).
There's something broken here when you can just flag away any facts that you are uncomfortable with and pretend that they don't exist. I've already vouched the article back from the dead. But this is ridiculous for a website which claims one of its core principle to be libertarian style free speech.
- kace91 6y agoI love hacker news, but visiting the "new" section from time to time and seeing what gets flagged away it's sobering. So many things are killed way before the majority even glances at them...

- mNovak 6y agoI made the mistake of spending 30min to summarize the article in the last thread, only to find it flagged out of existence. Guess I'll wait a bit to see if this post lasts before doing that again.
