The Sharia court's verdict can be challenged at Nigeria's Supreme court, right?
- davehcker 6y agoI would think so. Fatwas i.e. the Sharia rulings are legally non-binding (https://en.unesco.org/courier/2017-april-june/what-sharia-not https://en.unesco.org/courier/2017-april-june/what-sharia-no...). 'Secularism, Sovereignty, Indeterminacy: Is Egypt a Secular or a Religious State?' by H Ali Agrama is a very interesting anthropological account of Sharia law for those interested in exploring the issue further.
