I don’t get it. I glanced through the article and it appeared to be the same kind of cooler install that we’ve been doing on the Internet for 20 years...

Here's an article mentioning the introduction of the Cooler Master Hyper 212. Agreed, I'm not sure what the hook is in this article. I would & do recommend the Hyper212, as a well performing heat-sink at a very very affordable price point ($34). Well worth it for a little less power draw, a cooler system, less noise. It was fun to see the Hyper212 in this article, but again, not sure what the hook is here, what makes this particularly shareable.

  Well, this is the Black Edition of the Cooler Master Hyper 212, so there is that. I too found the article a bit underwhelming. I thought 'cooler cooler' was going to mean a configuration where a secondary cooler was piggybacking on a primary cooler, to get the temps down into the arctic depths. Apparently that idea isn't any good, LOL.

    I remember devouring articles off of HardOCP in the late 90s where people would hook a piezoelectric plate up to the CPU and then a water cooler to the plate, allowing them to send the processor below freezing. There had to carefully glue rubberized cloth to the back side of the motherboard to keep the condensation from forming and wrecking things. Awesome times!
