My default state is "unreasonably happy" but my latest "generosity" was making A couple of what I call "Porsche house calls" to help fix a friend's car. He's an hour away. Before I got sick, I used to to travel much further (different states) to help friends and strangers. I am honest to myself. As the title suggests, I am generous because it makes me happy. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT TAKE-AWAY The flip side of this, is you need to let people be generous to you. If you don't, you are denying them this same pleasure. It was epiphany I had a decade ago. Us independent types want to do everything for ourselves.
