As an outsider without context, the articles does nothing to properly introduce the people (like who is PG and which Jessica?) it's talking about. Even if it's a response post to something, you should always reference some context so people interested in the subject matter have further reading material instead of relying on letting them figure it out by Ctrl-F-ing through hacker news comments.
- mcguire 6y agoTo paraphrase other people at other times, if you don't know what the article is about, you are not the audience of it. Annoying, yes. But I'm not the audience either.
- veddox 6y agoPG (Paul Graham) is the founder of the seed funder Y Combinator. (A bit later, he also started HN.) Jessica is his wife and co-founder of YC. He started off as a Lisp academic, then had a web shopping startup in the 90s. He is also known for his collection of essays.
