Facebook Threatens to Shoot Itself in the Foot
- floppiplopp 6y ago"If we have to respect the privacy law, we'll shoot this puppy!" -Mark Z.
- tannhaeuser 6y agoIt's especially dishonest with Fb using david-vs-goliath metaphors (with Fb portraying itself as siding with "creators") and save-the-web propaganda LOL.

- mrweasel 6y agoA few things annoy me about the coverage of Facebook vs. EU. I don't care about the revenue, tell me how much profit Facebook make in the EU instead. Facebook can't leave, not because of potentially lose of profit, but because it would allow a new competitors to have exclusive rights to 500 million users. Facebook can't afford to let competitors bootstrap in Europe. They have been buying up everyone who could potentially be a threat, and now they'll leave 500 million potential users uncontested? I think not. Yes, small business and soccer moms around Europe would take a hit if Facebook left, but something new would eventually replace Facebook.
