I live in Oregon, and heard about something similar in Multmomah , specifically an intervention team to work with people experiencing homelessness. I think these programs are important, and a better solution than a police panacea. Ultimately though, we need to have tighter communities, who care for each other and care for people because they’re people. If someone shows up in your neighborhood, it’s an opportunity to say hello. Embrace each other as human beings rather than segregated into tribes of us and them.
