I had to look up most of those names but if you're wondering, looking back a couple weeks it's usually 9/10 or 10/10 right-wing talk hosts/sources.
It appears FB is essentially a right-wing mouth piece, idk if that is a controversial opinion, but the data appears that way, I think.
- krapp 6y ago>It appears FB is essentially a right-wing mouth piece, idk if that is a controversial opinion, but the data appears that way, I think. Given that the common narrative around Facebook is that it, along with all other social media, is engaged in a leftist conspiracy to purge all conservative and right-wing speech from the internet, I'd say it would be.
- buhhh 6y agoProjection is a great tactic, isn't it?

- justanotheranon 6y agoright wing extremist here. there is one funny aspect of this perceived Right Wing bias on FB due to its most active user demographic being Boomers. to the real right wing, we view Shapiro, Bongino, Breitbart and Faux as being fake "Cuckservatives"-- we laugh at them as being Israel-Firsters and Neocons in disguise, essentially a controlled opposition who are allowed to be soft right wing and designed to keep the base closer to the center and to pacify the base from coordinating and organizing the overthrow of the US govt to replace it with open fascism. (the Constitution is completely compatible with Fascism, and is an Ideal of Fascism, so it won't be going away.) there are dozens and hundreds of real right wing pundits and gatekeepers who have long ago been banned off FB. just look at the recent Qanon purges. where did Alex Jones go? Tommy Robinson? Gavin McInnes? Virgina Dare? AmRen? Patriot Front? but since the average Lefty only consumes Left Wing content, they are only aware of the fake right wing content producers who are used as boogeymen to scare Lefties into allegiance. next time you think about how much you hate hate HATE Faux and Breitbart et al, remember that you ought to be grateful to them as gatekeepers holding the Overton Window in place. because the alternative would have the Fourth Reich installed immediately and Death Camps open within 6 months. a similar dynamic exists on the Left, with Neolib centrists versus Left Wing extremists like DSA/Communists, Antifa/BlacBlock and BLM/Soros. funny how the extremes on both the Left and the Right lead to the same goal. we agree on the destination, we just disagree on the path of the journey.
- colinmhayes 6y ago>BLM/Soros In no way extremist lmao. Soros is literally the boogeyman to conservatives I guess.
- theplague42 6y agolove to see fascism apologists on HN

- theplague42 6y agoThank you for doing that.
- hawkice 6y ago> It appears FB is essentially a right-wing mouth piece, idk if that is a controversial opinion, but the data appears that way, I think. I mean, mouthpiece can't possibly be the right term. Does anyone think they should forbid Fox News articles from being shared? If you don't want them moderating it away, and they aren't themselves recommending it, their role is pretty minor. The idea of Facebook is that when you post things some people you know see it. How do you show people what they want and avoid results similar to this?
- rocketpastsix 6y agomouth piece is a stretch. "Popular site for people who lean right of the aisle of the American congress" however is more apt for what Facebook is. The problem isn't Fox News though (they are bad enough), its that fake news stories (generally right leaning) are easily crafted and shared at a significant pace on Facebook that is seemingly having a deep impact on the American electorate and government.
- HeroOfAges 6y agoWould you be willing to provide me 3 links to right leaning fake news stories published today? The original links please. I no longer have a Facebook account.
- rocketpastsix 6y agoI also do not have a Facebook account.
- HeroOfAges 6y agoThen why do you believe right leaning fakes news stories are shared any more often than left leaning fake news stories on Facebook?

- dandersh 6y agoVery interesting, thanks! Only one I didn't recognize is Bongino. I would be very curious in the age demographics of FB users. My understanding is that initially the user base was young and now it's older, specifically boomer age range. I could be completely wrong, I've never had an account and am just going off the people I know personally and what I've noticed being online.
- toxik 6y agoInteresting to know that if there was a facebook.com/r/all/, I wouldn't even recognize who the top posts were made by. Guess I'm just really disconnected.
- erik_seaberg 6y agoCould it be that left-wing pageviews are divided among more sources so none of them individually get this much traffic?
- deleted 6y ago[deleted]
- adt2bt 6y agoThat's plausible, also from personal experience with family I do think conservative media tends to be more addictive, so an average conservative will consume more news than an average liberal.
- retox 6y agoI think the answer is that the US population is much less "lefty" that people in that milieu would like to believe.
- sjg007 6y agoI think you are wrong. Almost all Americans want police reform for example.
- crocodiletears 6y ago'Want police reform' and, 'want leftist-espoused police reform' are two very different things. Just because the majority of a population support a given policy abstract doesn't mean that the gamut of their potential demands doesn't span the entirety of the political spectrum.
- sjg007 6y agoI don't really get your point. People need to vote and all of this pedantry will go away.
- crocodiletears 6y ago
- Covzire 6y agoMaybe people are a lot more conservative than CNN or NYT are willing to let people believe.
- adt2bt 6y agoOr maybe liberals tend to not use Facebook to get their news.
