Anyone know how we can help him?
- Simon_says 6y agoNot much you can do. If you're American, you could try to find which presidential candidate wants to pardon Assange and then vote for her.
- doublesCs 6y agoReportedly, Trump said he would pardon Assange if Assange gave him Hillary's emails.
- mhh__ 6y agoThe report was that he offered to pardon him in exchange for saying "who" the emails were from. They already had the emails - that's what Stone and Assange were doing together
- doublesCs 6y agoOk, thank you for the correction. Even better would be offering a link :-)
- HugeAcumen 6y ago... What? You didn't offer a link for your claim; why would you ask for a link to a fact easily findable in the search engine of your choice?
- mhh__ 6y agoMueller report, and the recent senate report/committee result which I'm not sure of the name of. The thing with the pardon is from Assange's lawyer IIRC

- newen 6y agoThis is funny. People used to recommend calling/mailing your local Congress representative and try to get them to do something about their particular concern. Now that Congress is completely partisan and just follows the top down party line, people are recommending to do one of the least effective way for a single person to effect change, electing the President, where even a single person in a swing state has a minuscule chance of affecting the outcome.
- sudosysgen 6y agoI believe they were talking about electing the third party candidate from the PSL.
- newen 6y agoDon't even know what to say about this. I'll probably vote third party but I'm not going to pretend it's going to have any effect whatsoever on what the eventual Democrat or Republican president would do about Assange.
- sudosysgen 6y agoI agree, it won't do much, I just wanted to clarify what I'm pretty sure they meant.
- Simon_says 6y agoI was not specifically talking about the PSL. But you could pick a president by sortition of eligible citizens and practically be guaranteed a better choice than Biden or Trump.
- Craighead 6y agoBy educating yourself about geopolitics to learn why he's not to be helped.
- divineviolence 6y agoIt is my opinion only: Outside of overthrowing two corrupt governments there is nothing to be done. No protest will change the result.
- fsflover 6y agoLearned helplessness works very well. Instead consider donating to NGOs helping him.
- sudosysgen 6y agoIt's not learned helplessness, there is legitimately nothing that can be done by any NGO here.
- fsflover 6y agoSpreading the information is much more than nothing. I actually believe it's the main thing to do here.
- sudosysgen 6y agoSure, but no matter how much info we can push out, the MSM and other outlets will push massive amounts of contradictory info, false intel will get fabricated, and so that won't be effective to get Assange freed. That being said, it's still worthwhile and will help build awareness of how this world really works, but it won't get Assange freed.
- colllectorof 6y ago> No protest will change the result. It would change the public awareness, at least. Force coverage. Start a dialog. However, my prediction is that there will be no large-scale protest in US about this. All those who are currently LARPing "resistance" against police brutality will just ignore his case. Mark my words.
