I dunno. Both sides can get heard but it's like half the time I don't understand what the other side is saying, the other half they won't change their mind, but more importantly won't give me enough info for me to reconsider my position and learn from it. eg. I don't understand what the other side is saying: You mention identity politics. I don't care. I don't know anyone who cares, including trans people I know. They (and I) would rather have a good night out and a couple of drinks. All such discussions become fruitless in the end.
