Long story short:
This guy defends cybercriminals, and his main goal is to avoid going to trial. He does this by trying unconventional plea bargains wherein his clients write some code that they effectively trade for a decreased sentence, like, something to help find other cybercriminals, or to utilize some domain knowledge they have.
I'd be curious if he goes even further, and that his clients aren't even responsible for the code/systems they are offering and in fact, he could have a team of hackers that helps produce appealing enough tools for the government and he's effectively recruiting his own talent by defending the hackers - which raises some questions about his motives to me if that absolutely made up hypothetical were a reality. If it were, I don't think Bukh would broadcast it, or maybe he would if it would help him get more clients :)
