Show HN: I made an open-source marketplace to fasten OAuth API integrations
- corentin88 6y agoPizzly is something that we initially built within my company to increase the automation of our customer-facing API integrations (e.g. sending Slack notifications, picking a spreadsheet, etc). The main benefit it provides is to keep the codebase free from API specificities. For example, the authentication part is totally handled within Pizzly. That way, our engineering team was focused on using the data and the code was not cluttered. Also, it appeared that engineers were keener to build integrations using Pizzly. It was recently open-sourced and I'm now actively contributing to it and welcome new contributors. Here’s a live demo: https://demopizzly.herokuapp.com/ https://demopizzly.herokuapp.com/ (hosted on Heroku Hobby, so expect some cold start).
- picsoung 6y agoNice work Corentin! I have been using Pizzly for some recent hacks on Airtable and Monday.com, and it helped me building oauth flow directly into a full frontend app. Really useful.
- corentin88 6y agoThanks a lot! And thanks for all the great feedback that you are sharing. I haven't seen your Monday.com integration, but the Airtable Shipping Block is neat [0] [0] https://github.com/picsoung/airtable-shipping-block https://github.com/picsoung/airtable-shipping-block
- cfabianski 6y agoSuper happy to OpenSource this bit that we used heavily @BearerSH. Once you’ve tried it, there is no way you are coming back to the old way.
- saviorand 6y agoLooks interesting. So the use case is when you have an app that consumes a bunch of APIs and you want to get rid of all the integration code? Are you planning to add any analytics/data dashboards e.g to view aggregate data?
- corentin88 6y agoI wouldn’t think that you need "a bunch of APIs" to start using Pizzly. Even with only one, it’s useful. Why? Because it helps to use that API faster (mostly by handling the authentication A to Z). Analytics/data dashboard is an interesting path. While there’s already great open-source solution that you can plug to monitor what’s going on. The projet is quite new, so I don’t know today what path Pizzly is going to take. But in the coming months the focus is more on supporting much more APIs (there are 60 today).
- derfabianpeter 6y agoThanks for sharing this. Will give it a try with my team next week. Could be exactly what we’ve been looking for the past weeks to handle auth with cloud infrastructure providers on our automation platform.
- corentin88 6y agoAwesome! Feel free to get in touch: Corentin [at] Bearer.sh
- dzello 6y agoWe looked at Pizzly to cut down on integration boilerplate so we could offer connections to a lot more services. Nice to see an open source project solving this.
- jackculpan 6y agoLove this! Currently in the process of using Pizzly for a e-commerce dashboard using Google Sheets.
- corentin88 6y agoThank you so much Jack! Please reach out once you've something to demo: corentin [at] bearer.sh
