I don't know anything about Rogan nor have I ever listened to his podcast (nor have any intention to), so I gotta ask: has he ever proclaimed himself an authority on, well, anything?
Because all of the criticism of him I read in here stems from what he chooses to talk about (which the critic dislikes or deems less important than other issues) or whom he chooses to talk with (whom the critic hates). Apparently, his deciding to focus on specific topics or talking to specific people somehow constitutes an "endorsement", but if he's no authority nor he has declared himself to be so, I don't see how that criticism is in any way apropos.
If his podcast really is as his fans/apologists describe, long conversation without specific goal. In that case nothing could possibly be an endorsement of, well, anything.
- TheMblabla 6y agoI think the idea is that he's brought on people who spread hate and disinformation, thereby popularizing and empowering them. He's so popular that by going on the show guests get a 'bump' in popularity, like the Oprah Bump.
