To me, Haskell got great at "get things done quickly". With Stack (and Stackage), initiatives like "Simple Haskell", and upcoming RecordDotSyntax, it truly becomes a weapon of pragmatic choice to knock out working software as quickly as possible. And a combination with Elm (and code-generation of Api.elm from Servant types) makes a perfect match for SPAs.
- mark_l_watson 6y agoI just looked through the Simple Haskell web site. I had not seen that before. I liked the Graham Hutton quote on having a secret plan to just use Haskell 98. For years, I enjoyed using Hugs via the iOS app Raskell. I still use Raskell but sadly it is no longer stable after an iOS update a year ago. Hugs, being an interpreter, is so fast for happy hacking activities.
