Ok so those are common tropes for people who are appealing to a particular group who interpret those phrases as "this person is on my side"? A group that presumably believes men are in some way the victims of unfair critique of their behaviour... The difficulty for me is how can I distinguish between a dog whistle and a statement of authentic opinion. Unless one spends time in constant engagement with this type of rhetoric?
