It is interesting. So companies are there to make business decisions. People doing business with companies are also making their "business" decisions. So both tend to lie, at least a little, or not reveal what is not directly asked. It is not uncommon to deal with say insurance companies, and tell all the white lies, and sometimes more. But on the other hand, it is not uncommon for insurance companies to use any word you say, against you. Thus the system has taught us to be dishonest when dealing with money. If you are too honest, the other one takes advantage on that and starts to act against you, probably for a reason, but dishonestly. The companies (and rich people) also do a lot dishonestly, not always illegally, but using loopholes to e.g. avoid taxes. It is dishonest, but it is still legal.
