fair enough - i guess the idea of the bus pirate was that it's flow was supposed to be faster than writing code, i.e. you want to peek & poke a target more interactively or exploratory just to see how the it behaves. but Yeah if you know exactly what you want to do why not just skip right to writing code for it with the arduino.
