Oxfam Confronting Carbon Inequality [pdf]
- cmehdy 6y agoThis has been reported in the news but is short enough (12 pages) to be readable by anyone, and should be a wake-up call to some. Anyone above 38k USD per year of gross earnings falls within the top 10%, and for North America (US & Canada) the equivalent-CO2 emissions per capita[0] are between 50% and 300+% higher than EU countries, which means we the 10%-related emissions are overwhelmingly related to a population within which HN is likely to be a subset. For anyone in a rush, the summary on page 2 is pretty decent. A couple more pages (3 and 4) give a fuller overview of the situation. The subsequent pages go further into a breakdown and a bit of a "now what?", which is in line with the last bits of the summary.
