Since this is the second post of the same report on HN today. I would like to suggest fellow HN readers to research a bit into Adrian Zenz first.

Edit 2:
Here is an interesting video of the author (Max Blumenthal) challenging Adrian Zenz in person on Capitol Hill

(BTW Dumbrill's travel videos are pretty cool)
- sharken 6y agoA solution could be to flag a post as suspicious or even fake news. Though that will open the floodgates to all sorts of scrutiny that I think won’t help. So a post like yours seems to be a good enough solution for the problem.
- blkmm 6y agoThat's right. I believe the solution is for people to develop and apply their critical thinking. It's the way to prevent Nayirah testimony, Iraq's WMD or similar from being used as excuses for war again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nayirah_testimony https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nayirah_testimony
- warninglights 6y agoEveryone should but how many people have the time to do the geopolitical research unless it hits home? It wasn't enough in the relatively innocent "good old days of bush", now social media has been weaponized
- HoppedUpMenace 6y agoSo all of what is happening in China with regards to Tibet and Uighers is part of a disinformation campaign, piecing together the totality of the sources you provided?
- xster 6y agoConsider Wilkerson, chief of staff for Collin Powell, says the US is in Afghanistan to be able to disrupt BRI coming through Xinjiang and to be able to provide direct support for insurgency to destabilize China through inciting Uyghurs, I think we can say there's a bit more than the image we're presented https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3f_EKnH7Tw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3f_EKnH7Tw
- 8bitsrule 6y agoThanks for that. I've wondered where this drumbeat of Xinjiang stories (and little evidence) was coming from. The idea that some far-right German fundamentalist is building a following behind some of it makes a lot of sense (particularly under Trump). That said, there's little question what's happened in Tibet in the 70 years China has occupied it ... and what they've already done there (and here ... re the NYC Thai cop reporting to the consulate) (not to mention the Cultural Revolution or Tiananmen) makes it a lot easier to entertain the Xinjiang story. China plays a long game.
- SheinhardtWigCo 6y agoI've noticed that ad hominem posts about Adrian Zenz tend to show up every time this topic is mentioned on a public forum. Did you miss this part of the report? > Reuters corroborated Zenz’s findings and found additional policy documents, company reports, procurement filings and state media reports that describe the program.
