Whom do you mean by "we" here?
The president?
The governors?
The hidden powers who rule the world?
- vkou 6y agoI think it's rather self-evident that the lion's share of the blame lies with the administration that was proclaiming that Covid will go away in April, the CDC (whose failings are in large part, but not solely on the shoulders of this administration), and their regional equivalents. You're also free to blame some structural problems, if you're looking to assign blame. [1] The civil unrest that followed made it clear that the administration is more then willing to use federal forces to interfere in state business - but only when it comes to putting down civil unrest, not to prevent the spread of an epidemic. [1] I honestly don't think assigning blame matters at this point, everyone's already made up their mind on whether or not the man who claimed that sunlight and bleach cures Covid has done a good job.
