It was just the mildest of jokes on the word 'tarnish' metaphor vs literal. I assumed that the issues with pogo pins were likely to do with corrosion (tarnishing) on the PCB pads affecting the contact. And that I have't let the experience affect my view of Fairphone enough to prevent me buying one in future.
