Late night comedians don't worry about not having Rush Limbaugh listeners in their demographic and vice versa. As you rightly say, your blog posts are part therapy and part knowledge transfer. That doesn't mean the "technical publishing" meta-tag doesn't also reasonably apply and brings a segment of readers with certain expectations.
