- ReptileMan 6y agoThat is how federations are supposed to work. It is important what majority of states want, not what majority of the population wants. If you want the federation dismantled and current territory combined into single state ruled by popular vote - just say so. But until then - it is working exactly as designed.
- jgwil2 6y agoThat might make sense if the federation is a loose collective of more or less independent states collaborating on specific issues like foreign policy, but otherwise leaving each other alone for the most part. But that is clearly no longer the case in the United States. Our political system should reflect that reality.
