Given that many people are wearing masks, avoiding social gatherings or public places, practicing social distancing, and/or being meticulous about handwashing, one might expect the incidence of influenza -- and of every other contagious disease -- to drop precipitiously.
But apparently this is not the case?

And the number of death certificates mentioning influenza or pneumonia is currently below the five-year average" https://fullfact.org/health/flu-covid-deaths/ https://fullfact.org/health/flu-covid-deaths/ I tried to find more stats but it's clear that no two sources are using the same protocol to count deaths and death causes, op's website doesn't seem to give data pre 2020 for this report so really there is no easy way to tell what's going on. All I can find is that flu is lower than usual and covid is going down, which both support the fact that masks and lockdown work. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6937a6.htm?s_cid=mm6937a6_w https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6937a6.htm?s_cid=mm... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/10/lockdown-england-reduced-flu-colds-bronchitis-coronavirus https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/10/lockdown-engla... edit: btw OP's graph only goes back to the beginning of the year, it doesn't matter if influenza goes up or down in that timeframe, what matters is to compare it to the average at the same time during the last few years
